Design Story
Regal Robot’s official Indiana Jones -inspired décor finds great elements within the movies and series we love and lets you bring them into your home in new and exciting ways! The vintage art used on these plaques come from the Lucasfilm image archives and are some of the earliest designs from the production of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark™.
The famous concepts were done by legendary comic artist, Jim Steranko. In the book, The Complete Making of Indiana Jones, they list the original notes sent in with the paintings:
“Painting #1…should be inside an Inca-type temple with snakes on the floor and spiders on the walls. Our hero should be dressed in…khaki pants, gun belt, leather jacket… felt hat with brim turned down.”
“Painting 2 – to be desert location… with some… trucks and tanks.”
For Version 3 – “with our hero leaping onto… truck with canvas cover on the back of the truck, circa 1936…”
For Version 4 – “a… pilot… our hero… under the wing of a Flying Wing Air Plane having a fist fight on the ground very close to the propeller…”
