This Signature Edition Orrimaarko aka Prune Face™ Concept Maquette Replica is part of our Star Wars™ Archive Collection, a continuation and expansion of our work creating authentic replicas with impeccable lineage.

Limited to just 100 pieces, each hand-painted maquette in this Signature Edition includes a metal plaque hand-signed by veteran ILM creature artist, Tom St. Amand.

During the production of the Star Wars™ Original Trilogy, St. Amand was an integral part of the team that brought the AT-AT’s to life, he machined the armatures for stop-motion creatures like the tauntaun, worked as a puppeteer on the Rancor™ scene and was part of the team that did concept work for the ILM creature shop on Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™. As part of that work, he sculpted the Orrimaarko aka Prune Face maquette.

This maquette was the first step in designing the “Prune Face” creatures that would show up in the Rebel briefing scene in the final film. With hands-on access to the original film artifact and high resolution 3D scanning, our team crafted a faithful recreation of the concept maquette for this mysterious alien from the movie.

At approximately 4 3/8” tall (including the wood display base), each is cast in solid polyurethane resin. 100% made in the U.S.A., every replica in this edition is meticulously hand painted by the artists in our New York studio, making each a unique tribute to the artistry involved behind the scenes of our favorite films!

Do not miss this extraordinary opportunity to bring home an authentic replica, scanned from the original artifact with a direct connection to the artists that inspire us!

Each statue in this signature edition includes a metal plaque and COA. Each is hand packed in a gloss black box with die-cut foam insert, and double-boxed for shipping.

Star Wars Archive Collection prop replicas of concept maquettes from Return of the Jedi

The Archive Collection - Recreating an Artifact

“When Star Wars: Return of the Jedi action figures first appeared on shelves, we all thought Prune Face must’ve been a bad guy from Jabba the Hutt™’s palace! The figure’s alien look and wrinkled head, along with the heavy cloak and eyepatch, made so many kids at the time leap to the same conclusion. In the end, however, Orrimaarko (as the character would later be named) was one of the good guys! He and several of the same alien species gathered with the rebels aboard the Mon Calamari ship for the briefing about the impending attack on Death Star II.

When these concept maquettes were first shown in classic, behind-the-scenes documentaries, I was instantly hooked. Seeing video of Phil Tippett’s creature shop during the production of that 1983 film was a big part of what led me to a life in the world of FX and movie monsters.

We’ve been so fortunate to work with Tom on this edition. We’re all so proud of this special Signature Edition, and I can’t wait to see it in the collections of discerning prop and statue fans and Star Wars collectors!”

– Tom Spina (Regal Robot founder)

During the production of films, the creature effects team will often dream up new and fantastic aliens and beasts by creating small scaled sculptures, called “maquettes,” to showcase their ideas. From this menagerie of maquettes, the film’s director and producer choose which characters will be brought to life for the film as costumes or puppets and what roles they will play in the story.

This incredible design was chosen to become a collection of creatures listening in on the Rebel briefing in the film. ILM stop-motion artist, Tom St. Amand, sculpted the maquette that started the process of bringing this character to life.
