Tooth Face Concept Maquette Replica – Chris Walas Signature Edition

Our Star Wars™  Archive Collection’s newest replica is the mixed-media, Tooth Face, part of our work creating authentic replicas with impeccable lineage.

Later known as “J’Quille” the Whiphid alien, our team crafted a faithful recreation of this concept for a classic Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™ creature that lurked the halls of Jabba the Hutt’s palace.

This distinctive Signature Edition of just 150 pieces includes a plaque signed by Oscar-winning creature maker, Chris Walas, who sculpted the original maquette for the film’s production.

This particular sculpture was made while the creature team was exploring what aliens might look like for the film.  With hands-on access to the original film artifact, high resolution 3D scanning and carefully matched faux fur, our team crafted a faithful recreation of this early concept for the classic character. At approximately 6″ tall (including the wood display base), each solid-resin maquette is meticulously hand painted in multiple layers and then fur is hand-applied by the artists in our New York studio, making each a unique tribute to the artistry involved behind the scenes of our favorite films!
