Kabe’s Oasis – Custom Cantina Furniture & Decor

A long-time client spotted a past custom project where we crafted Star Wars™ Cantina Furniture and Decor on our website and contacted us about a dream home theming project she was working on. For years, she and her husband had added elements to their home, including many from our line of themed decor, and now they were embarking on a bigger project – the creation of what they called, “Kabe’s Oasis” – an immersive, themed home cantina!

They commissioned us to help refine their designs and decorate that space in our unique, Regal Robot style! Drawing inspiration from the film, we talked in-depth about their interests, needs and space and created a variety of concepts that would not only contribute to their theme but also add function to the space. The resulting project was a combination of customized versions of existing Regal creations and a number of all-new elements created just for this project. We’ll go through each below.

• Film-prop style hand crafted and distressed cantina bench seating
• Hand carved resin-coated distressed cantina side-tables
• Classic Star Wars cargo crates as side-tables
• Kabe’s Oasis Aurebesh faux-stone wall plaque (40″ wide!)
• Custom 30″ tall oversized version of our Rancor corbel
• Kabe name sign but in the lettering style of the cantina sign
• Custom Greedo(our client’s favorite character)-costume-inspired minimalist art wall decor
• A collection of “Greeblies” for the walls to add that true, Star Wars movie set feeling
• Droid detector from the cantina as lighted wall art
• The Crocodina – a bronze version of this obscure cantina set piece
• and more!

While all of these creations would be wildly distinctive in any “normal” home or office, with our history of home theater and crafting authentic theme props and set decoration, things like the cantina benches and tables felt pretty tame! Lucky for us, this build would be filled with designs that took inspiration in unexpected directions! For instance, the “standard cargo crates” so common in the films, would become distressed side tables like no others.

For the wall art we dug even deeper. We pulled from scenic elements and props from the film sets, characters, costumes, the signage on set and even vintage toys to find opportunities to incorporate those into art for our client. The end result is a home cantina room like no other, filled with creations and style that are uniquely Regal Robot!

While this project was full of custom creations, there are some elements available as standard items now!
